Brightly Beams Our Father's Mercy A Cappella

This song was very sweet to me and reminded me of a story that a dear friend Joni Allen shared in sacrament meeting.  She talked about a time that her family had gone on a hike at Zions canyon and gotten lost. They were trying to get out of the canyon as it was getting dark and wished someone had just lit a flashlight at the mouth of the canyon so they could follow it and find their way out of the canyon. I have often thought of that image of a light to follow when you are lost.

Love the last verse especially.

"Trim your feeble lamp my brother
Some poor sailor tempest tossed
trying now to make the harbor
in the darkness may be lost"
